Commonly Reported Problems

To check the Menu panel IP address, go to the following location in
Windows 2000:
Start\Settings\Network and Dial-up Connections
. You may do
this without interrupting the software update.

Click on the
Local Area Connection
icon to bring up the
Local Area Status
Dialog Box
, then press the
Properties
button.

Click on the
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
line in the list window to bring up
the
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties
dialog box.
10.
In the
IP address
field, verify or enter the correct default Menu panel IP
address shown in
and close down the network window.
11.
In the
IP Address
field next to the Main Panel and Video Processor frame
entries, verify that the IP addresses of the Main panel and Video
Processor frame are now set to the default values as shown in
If they are not correct, enter the values from the table.

Once the IP addresses have been verified, select the
Ping All
button
again.
If a device still fails to ping properly, it could be disconnected from the
network, powered down, or have cabling problems (see
Section 5-Troubleshooting and Diagnostics
).
CAUTION
All selected devices should Ping successfully before proceeding. If the ping
test for a selected device fails, continuing installation will cause the Update
Tool to exit. Contact Grass Valley Group Customer Support. Contact numbers

When the Ping test is successful, touch the
Start Update
button. A Zodiak
Download Status screen appears (not shown) and installation begins.
During installation a progress bar is displayed and the components
being loaded are identified.
14.
Since you selected all devices to update, when the file transfers
complete, a screen similar to
appears. Touch
OK
. The Menu
panel automatically resets itself.

The Main panel and Video Processor frame do not automatically reset.
Return the Main panel and Video Processor frame rotary Boot switches
to position
0
(zero) and reset both devices.
