Main Panel Diagnostics
Main panel diagnostic routines are available in version 2.0 software or later
to test functionality of various components on the Main panel Crosspoint
Switch, M/E Switch and Control Panel Processor boards, and the Main
panel power supplies (
The diagnostic routines are accessed using a RS-422 serial connection from
a PC or dumb terminal to a communication port on the rear of the Main
panel. You may use the Menu panel Windows application and local serial
ports to do these procedures. The diagnostic routine is run with a terminal
emulation program (HyperTerminal). The Effects Memory readout and the
Transition Rate displays in each M/E on the Main panel are also used to
view parameters for some of the diagnostics. Diagnostic testing will inter-
rupt operations, so the Main panel should be off-air during these tests.
