Zodiak Installation and Service Manual
Section 5 — Troubleshooting and Diagnostics
4.
If one of the devices did not report a software version in Step 3 above,
check Menu panel communication with other Zodiak devices with the
steps below.
When the Menu panel is not communicating with the Zodiak frame, a
Frame is disconnected
message will appear in the upper right banner of
the menu screen. When the Menu panel is not communicating with the
Main panel, selections made on the Main panel, such as double-
pressing a
Wipe
button will not bring up the correct menu on the Zodiak
Menu application. Also changes made on a menu, such as assigning a
matte mode to a key will not be reflected properly on the Main panel.
a.
Verify the Menu panel IP address on the Facility LAN by exiting the
menu display and entering the Windows 2000 screen.
b.
Go to the following location in Windows 2000:
Start\Settings\Network
and Dial-up Connections
. You may do this without interrupting the
software update.
c.
Click on the
Local Area Connection
icon to bring up the
Local Area Status
Dialog Box
, then press the
Properties
button.
d.
Click on the
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
line in the list window to bring
up the
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties
dialog box.
e.
Verify the IP address assigned is correct for a device on the Facility
LAN and verify the Subnet mask IP address. Exit this function.
f.
Run the Zodiak application on the Menu panel.
g.
Touch the
Eng Setup
pad and select
Config
.
h.
In the Hardware pad, make sure the frame Facility LAN IP address
and RT Panel IP address (Main panel) are entered correctly.
5.
Verify that the Menu panel to frame LAN connection is active by
checking the green LAN LED on the bottom of the Menu panel
(
). It should be lit to indicate the LAN connection is active. If
the LED is not lit, push the
Cross Over
button next to the LAN connector
and wait for about 10 seconds. If the LED does not light, push the
Cross
Over
button again to return it to the previous state. This button swaps
the TX and RX polarity required for communication with the frame.
