Video Processor Frame Modules
Input Section
The input section of the module accepts 270 MHz serial digital video from
the 64 non-looping physical BNCs on the rear of the Video Processor frame.
These inputs conform to the SMPTE RP-259M standard. Each input is
equalized and buffered before entering the Crosspoint matrix.
Crosspoint Matrix
The Crosspoint circuitry on the module receives differential PECL video
signals from the Input section and outputs differential PECL video signals
to the Dual Mix/Effect modules based on control panel selections.
Background Generators
Two separate internal background generators are available as primary
sources in the Zodiak system. Each background generator has background
wash and texture capability in addition to complete hue, brightness and
saturation control from the Matte menu in the Zodiak Menu application.
Sync Generator Section
The Sync Generator section of the module takes a black reference signal
from the Analog Reference In BNC on the rear of the Video Processor frame
and generates the timing signals used throughout the Zodiak system.
Timing signals include the following:
•
Pixel clock output,
•
Horizontal blanking,
•
Vertical blanking,
•
Field ID, and
•
Vertical interval interrupt to CPU.
