Section 6 — Functional Description
Zodiak Menu Panel
The Zodiak Menu panel is a standalone touch screen that allows fingertip
control of the Zodiak Menu application for custom user configuration of
special effects and matte settings not requiring real time operation. A stan-
dard keyboard and mouse supplied by the customer can also be connected
for control. The Menu panel contains a single board computer (SBC)
running a Windows operating system. The Zodiak Menu application runs
on this platform and interfaces with the Main panel and Video Processor
frame via over the Ethernet network.
Main features of, and interfaces to, the Menu panel include the following:

Pentium class Single Board Computer (SBC) board running Windows
operating system on internal hard drive,
•
RJ-45 Ethernet connection to Video Processor frame and Main panel
over Menu (Facility) LAN,
•
Passive crossover switch for swapping Menu panel to Frame Ethernet
cable TX and RX polarity,
•
Built-in CD-ROM drive for installation of Zodiak software and other
applications,
•
Flat panel display with touch screen overlay for access to Zodiak
menus,
•
Standard PS/2 keyboard and mouse interface (keyboard and mouse
not provided),
•
External Zip drive with USB interface (250 MB Zip drive and one Zip
disk included with system),
•
Re12 V DC power from Control Panel Processor board through
external power cable, and
•
A built-in fan pulls cooling air through vents on the top and left sides
and expels it out the right side.
