GPI Outputs
GPI Outputs
GPI Output contact closures are used by the Zodiak system for simple
trigger control of external devices. There are eight GPI outputs available on
the rear of the Video Processor frame. See

Separate GPI Inputs can be used by an external device to trigger an action on
the Zodiak system. See

Configuration
On the Zodiak system, GPI outputs are physically configured using the
Eng Setup, Ports & Devices menu. In Eng Setups, touch the
Ports & Devices
category selection button, touch the
(All GPI Outputs)
button in the Device List
To configure GPI outputs follow the steps below.
1.
Touch a GPI number (
1–8
) from the Physical GPI Configuration pane to
define it. Give the GPI output a name by touching the GPI Name data
pad to bring up the alphanumeric keypad.
2.
In the Ctrl Delay Fields data pad, enter the number of fields that
indicate how long it takes for the external device to respond to a
command and perform the desired operation. Use the keypad or soft
knob to enter a value between 0 – 60. This external device information
is used by the switcher to synchronize Master E-MEM operations more
accurately.
3.
Set a duration time for the GPI output in the GPI Duration pane. You
may test fire the selected GPI output relay at the specified duration by
touching the
Test
button.
