Row-Pro™ Setup (Option)
YP3025 only: The factory default setting for down-force
is likely to differ from that required by your field
conditions at first use.
Before modifying the monitor setting for down-force,
determine what actual down force is ideal for the initial
use of the planter. One method of determining an initial
setting involves operating in the field (without seeding).
1. Set planting depth at T-handles (page 73).
2. Review unit-mount coulter depth relative to opener
disc. Adjust as needed (page 71).
3. Set down-force cams to notch 3 (page 69).
4. Operate
a
in the field for a short distance.
5. Evaluate the furrow (page 68).
6. Adjust the cams until depth and closure are ideal. If
the ideal setting seems to be in between two notch
values, use the higher setting. Rows in tracks may
be higher still.
7. Engage the Row-Pro™ system. Start with a force
setting lower than the chart value for the cam notch
(see table on page 69).
8. Operate in the field. Evaluate furrow and closing.
Adjust Row-Pro™ force setting for optimal results.
9. When verifying the final setting, and when planting,
watch for Unable to Control alarms, which may
indicate that the cams are a notch or more too high
or too low.
