The information in the table at right is normally preset at
the factory for your Planter configuration.
Clutch Overrides
In the event of clutch problems, the systems are
designed to act as follows:
•
Electric (section) clutches
disengage
on loss of
power.
•
Pneumatic (row) clutches
engage
on loss of air
pressure.
To continue planting until a problem can be corrected,
take these steps:
•
Electric clutch (standard):
Lock-up bolts are provided to engage them in the
event of power loss or clutch slippage. See page 49
for lock-up instructions.
•
Pneumatic clutch (Swath Command™):
Other than troubleshooting, no action is required at
the clutch. Pinch off any leaking tubing to prevent
pressure loss at other rows.
Electric Clutch Lock-Up
This information applies only to the standard electric
section clutches. If the planter has Swath Command
(pneumatic row clutches), there are no electric
clutches. The pneumatic clutches lock-up on loss of
air pressure (see page 49).
In case of electric clutch failure, an electric clutch can be
mechanically engaged.

1. Remove the rubber plugs
from the oil shield
disc
to allow access to the lock-up holes. Plugs
simply push out away from the clutch side.
2. Align the cutouts
with the holes
.
3. Insert the M8-1.25x14 mm long metric bolts
.
If you observe half the hole obstructed by a metal
disc
, you are not at a cutout.
If the entire hole is obstructed by a metal disc
, you are
not at a cutout.
Row groupings controlled by CFM switches may vary
from this table if Swath Command™ is installed.
Swath Command™ is not available for row spacings
below 15 inch (38cm).
