Larger greenhouses have perlins to increase strenght
in roof structures. A perlin can be a heavy or light
channel. It usually sits on top of a truss and is
bolted to the roofbars in the centre of he roof.
Heavy perlin
(at least 1/4” thick)
requires 1/4” x
3/4” bolts. Smaller greenhouses use a light channel
– bolts used are the same as the greenhouse bolts,
1/4” x 1/2.”
Installation of a perlin is a simple matter of sliding
the bolts into the roof bars and feastening the perlin
(see photos).
