Capacitance Check
Do not connect the meter to a source of voltage or current when the
selector switch is in the
position. Damage to the meter
can result.
1. Shut off and lock out power. Make sure all capacitors are fully discharged. Voltage must
not be present.
2. Plug the black test lead into the COM terminal. Plug the red test lead into the V
Ω
terminal.
3. Set the selector switch to

4. Press the function (blue) button to select capacitance check; the n F icon will appear.
Press REL
∆
to “zero” the meter.
Note:
Observe polarity when measuring polarized capacitors.
5. Connect the test leads to the component and read the display.
6. See the capacitor manufacturer’s specifications for the expected value.
