Diode Check
Do not change the position of the selector switch when the test leads
are connected to a component or circuit. Damage to the meter can
result.
Do not connect the meter to a source of voltage or current when the
range selector is in the
position. Electric shock can result.
Failure to observe this warning may result in serious injury or death.
1. Shut off and disconnect the power. Make sure all capacitors are discharged. Voltage must
not be present.
2. Plug the black test lead into the COM input terminal, and plug the red test lead into the
V/
Ω
input terminal.
3. Set selector switch to the
position.
4. Touch the test leads to the diode under test. The expected display is approximately as
follows:
Note: Any other reading indicates that the diode is defective.
