Sending Tone
1. Slide the switch to
Tone
.
2. The PairMapper offers two tone modes—Continuous and Warble.
• For Continuous mode, press and release the
TEST
button.
• For Warble mode, press and hold the
TEST
button for approximately 2 seconds.
• To change modes, switch the tester off and restart.
3. Use any probe or inductive amplifier to trace the signal to the subject wire.
Remote Identification
1. Slide the switch to
Cable
.
2. Plug one end of the cable into the RJ45 jack on the main unit and the other end into the
RJ45 jack on the remote terminator.
3. Press the
TEST
button. One of the ID LEDs will flash three times. This indicates the
number of the remote identification unit attached to the far end of the subject cable. The
tester then automatically continues with the same cable test procedure as step 3 under
“Testing a Cable.”
