Connected Lighting
Web Application
While you will typically use the lighting application on your smart device to manage your lighting network, you
can also use your computer’s Web browser to access our Web-based application to manage your lighting
network. The Web application has the same options as your smart device application for managing and
controlling your lights.
Web Application and Your Network
How the Web application connects to your lighting network depends on where your computer is located. If
the computer running the Web application is connected to your
local network
(connected to your network
router), then the Web application runs directly from your Gateway, and no Internet connection is necessary. If
the computer is connected
remotely
(for example, a computer at work), then the Web application runs from our
server on the Internet, which then connects to your Gateway so that you can manage your lighting network.
When you connect remotely, both the computer at your remote location and your Gateway (on your home
network) must be connected to the Internet.
You must also have an online account already set up to access your lighting network remotely (refer to the
Installation and Setup chapter for instructions on creating your online account).
Accessing the Web Application
You can access the Web application on your computer using any of the Web browsers listed in the System
Requirements chapter. Use either of the following Web addresses, depending on your type of system:
•
On a PC:
lighting
•
On a Mac:
lighting.local
