Figure 2.8-4. Typical Video Pattern, No Stabilization
NOTE:
Normally, the procedure outlined above is sufficient to adjust antenna
stabilization. However, it is possible that the pitch trim potentiometer on the
control unit requires adjustment as well to obtain the results of step (10). If
necessary, perform step (11).
(11)
If calibration of the roll stabilization circuitry does not produce the desired results, recalibrate the
pitch stabilization circuitry to the gyro using the following procedure.
(a) Reset the TILT control to the conditions of step (4) with stabilization on. (b) Pitch the
aircraft 10 degrees up.
(c) If the pattern shifts per Figure 2.8-2, slowly adjust the pitch trim on the control unit until
the terrain band display is as shown in Figure 2.8-1.
(d) If the pattern shifts per Figure 2.8-3, slowly adjust the pitch trim until the terrain band
display is as shown in Figure 2.8-1.
C. Check Weather Alert Mode
(1) With indicator on, adjust TILT control on the control unit for a strong red ground return.
(2) Select the WXA mode.
(3) Observe that the red area flashes on and of approximately once per second. (4) Return TILT
control to the normal position.
D. This completes the in-flight checkout procedures.
