• Always keep the device clean.
- Remove deposits, grass clippings
or escaping lubricant from the mo
-
tor, air vents and handles. Use a
damp cloth or brush to do this.
Do not use any cleaning agents or
solvents. This could damage the
machine irreparably.
- After each use, clean the cutting at
-
tachments and the protective cover
– if applicable – of contaminants.
- After each use, you
must clean the safety
cutter bar (with an oily
rag) and lubricate it
with an oil can or
spray.
• Prior to every use, check the appli
-
ance for obvious defects such as
loose, worn or damaged parts.
• Check covers and safety devices for
damages and correct installation. Re
-
place as necessary.
• The blade bar must be checked regu
-
larly for wear and reground. A blunt
cutting accessory will overload the
device and has to be replaced.
Storage
• Clean the device prior to storage.
• Attach the blade guard (
18)
• Store the device in a dry, frost-free,
and dust-protected place and out of
reach of children.
• Remove the rechargeable battery
from the device during a longer stor
-
age period (e.g. wintering).
• Store the battery only in a partially
charged state. The state of charge
should be 40 – 60 % over a longer
storage period. (two LED lights of the
state of charge display light up green).
• During a longer storage period, check
the state of charge of the battery and
recharge if necessary roughly every
3 months.
• Store the equipment between 10° C
and 25° C. During storage, avoid ex
-
treme cold or heat so the battery does
not lose power.
Disposal and protection
of the environment
Remove the battery from the device and
recycle the device, battery, and packaging
in an environmentally-friendly manner
Machines do not belong with
domestic waste.
Do not dispose of batteries in
household waste, fire (risk of explo
-
sion) or water. Damaged batteries
may damage the environment and
your health if toxic fumes or liquids
leak out.
• Return the unit to a recycling centre.
The plastics and metals in the unit can
be sorted and appropriately recycled.
Ask our Service Centre for details.
• Dispose of batteries in discharged con-
dition. We recommend covering the pole
with adhesive tape to prevent a short
circuit. Do not open up the battery.
• Dispose of batteries in accordance
with the local regulations. Take batter-
ies to an old battery collection point
where they will be recycled in an envi
-
ronmentally friendly manner. For infor
-
mation about this, ask your local waste
management company or our service
centre.
• Defective units returned to us will be
disposed of for free.
