SECTION 4: OPERATIONS
Operation Overview
The Model G1015 is a versatile machine that can
perform a number of different tasks. The follow-
ing overview gives you the basic process that
happens during a sanding operation. Familiarize
yourself with this process to better understand the
remaining parts of the
Operation section.
To complete a typical sanding operation, the
operator does the following:
1. Examines the workpiece to make sure it is
suitable for sanding.
2. Installs the correct sanding belt for the opera-
tion (composition and grit).
3. Turns the drive wheel by hand to make sure
the sanding belt is tracking correctly and is
properly tensioned.
4. Verifies that the platen is centered on the
sanding belt.
5. Adjusts the tool rest to the correct position
for the operation and makes sure that it is no
more than
1
⁄
8
" away from the sanding belt.
6. Connects the machine to power and pulls the
ON/OFF button out to turn it
ON.
7. Verifies that the sanding belt is tracking prop-
erly and rotating without interference.
8. Places the workpiece onto the tool rest and
slowly moves it into the sanding belt with the
direction of the belt.
9. Removes the workpiece and pushes the ON/
OFF button in to turn the machine
OFF.
