Model T28192 (Mfd. Since 04/18)
Using Hydraulic
Control Lever
When you press and hold the ON button, the
electric motor pressurizes the hydraulic fluid
within the hydraulic cylinder. When you push the
hydraulic control lever down, the pressurized fluid
moves the hydraulic ram forward, driving the log
into the splitting wedge.
To operate the log splitter you must use both
hands to activate the controls simultaneously. See
Figure 5 for the position of the controls and hands
during log splitting operations.

Splitting Logs
Setting Hydraulic
Ram Start Position
The hydraulic ram on the Model T28192 auto-
matically returns to a set start position after you
release the hydraulic control lever during log split-
ting operations.
The hydraulic ram start position is adjustable. Set-
ting the start position closer to the splitting wedge
reduces the return time of the ram. If splitting a
large number of logs under 20" in length, it makes
sense to set the start position of the ram closer to
the splitting wedge. Doing so will reduce the time
it takes you to complete your operation.
To set hydraulic ram start position:
1. Turn air bleed screw clockwise until it stops,
then turn it counterclockwise two full turns.
2. Press and hold ON button, then push
hydraulic control lever down. When hydraulic
ram reaches new start position, immediately
release both ON button and hydraulic control
lever.
3. Loosen, move, and re-tighten hydraulic ram
return stop, as shown in
Figure 6.

DO NOT attempt to split a log against the
grain by placing it sideways on the table.
Doing so may cause logs to fly off splitter
with great force, resulting in serious injury
or death.

This log splitter is ONLY designed
to split wood with the direction of the
grain. DO NOT attempt to split or crush
wood against the grain, or crush brick,
concrete blocks, or rock. If you do, you will
damage the machine, void the warranty, and
possibly severely injure or kill bystanders
or yourself.
