DRIVE GROUND POSTS
Required parts and equipment:
• Ground Posts (30G190SS501)
• Ground Post Driver (116040)
• Gloves & Eye and Hearing Protection
• Four (4) QH1404 Band Clamps for posts only at each end.
NOTE:
Drive all posts to same height (24" below ground) for proper frame assembly.
Position all ground post mounting holes to point toward the ends of frame.
Enlist the
services of a qualified contractor to properly drive posts if needed. Here are the basic
steps:
1. Take one ground post, measure 24" from plain end (no mounting holes), and
mark location on ground post. Repeat to mark all ground posts. Also mark string
line height on posts to use as a guide to keep posts at a uniform height.

Set top of posts at same height.
Drive posts 24"
below finished grade.
Use customer-supplied materials to
construct braces.

2. Move to first post location and with assistance, drive first post into ground. Drive until post is 24" below ground. Set
post tops at the same height throughout the frame length. Use string line as a guide.
3. Use a tapered bar inserted into mounting holes to turn post so mounting holes point to the front/back of the frame.
4. Repeat steps to drive all remaining ground posts into position.
5. Continue with the next procedure.
