Formatting
With the »
Formatting
« function you reformat the internal
memory of your dictation machine or a replaceable, exter-
nal memory card.
Note:
If a list of several authors is installed this function is only
available if there are no dictations in the memory. This
ensures that dictations from another user are not acciden-
tally deleted.
Caution data loss! This function will delete all files and
dictations on your dictation machine.
• Select the Format »
« menu item in the settings menu
and confirm with the right selection button » «.
Note:
Make sure an external memory card is plugged in if you
do not want to delete the internal memory.
• Confirm the complete formatting »
« of the memory
or the memory card with the right selection button » «
– An egg-timer appears during the formatting process;
the progress is illustrated by means of a status bar.
Directories and files with administrative data are crea-
ted on the internal memory or the external memory card
as well. For this reason not the entire memory capacity
is available for recording dictations.
Note:
The internal memory and the external memory card may
not be formatted as a removable disk with a PC formatting
function.
