Connecting the antennas
The wire antenna provides adequate reception of local FM (VHF) regional stations. Do not
shorten the wire antenna. A frame antenna is available for the reception of MW (medium
wave) stations.
1
Plug the wire frame antenna into the »
AM ANT
« socket on the hi-fi system. Adjust the
position of the wire frame antenna until you get the best reception.
Connecting the loudspeakers
1
Plug the loudspeaker cables into the »
SPEAKERS 4 OHM + R – – L +
« terminals on
the hi-fi system.
Connect the cables marked in red to the red terminal.
Connecting the headphones
1
Insert the headphone plug (ø 3.5 mm) into the »
0
« socket on the left side of the hi-fi.
– The loudspeakers of the hi-fi system are switched off.
Connecting the power cord
Note:
Check that the mains voltage on the type plate (on the bottom of the hi-fi system) corre-
sponds to your local mains supply.
The only way to disconnect the hi-fi system from the mains supply is to pull the plug.
1
Plug the power cord into the wall socket.
Inserting back-up batteries
In mains operation, the back-up batteries ensure the current time is retained if there is a
power failure or the device is briefly disconnected from the mains. The alarm time and alarm
function are not saved.
1
Open the backup battery compartment on the bottom of the hi-fi system by pressing the
catch and removing the lid.
2
When inserting the batteries (2 x 1.5 V, type IEC R3/UM4/AAA), observe the polarity
marked on the base of the battery compartment.
Note:
After a power cut the time on the display of the hi-fi flashes. The alarm time and alarm
type must then be reset.
