Setting up a No-IP account
To set up your No-IP account you will need to be using the
same Internet connection
you
used for the initial DVR network setup. (Same router)
1. First thing you will need to do is go to
www.no-ip.com
. Once the page has loaded click
on "Create Account". You will then be presented with the "
Create your No-IP account
"
page.
2. Fill in the relevant details and make sure you use an email address you can access
straight away for
verification purposes
. Once you have clicked "
I Accept, Create my
Account
" a verification email will be sent to the specified email address.
3. Open the email from "
unmonitored-webmaster@no-ip.com
" and click the "
activate
your account
" link (3rd link down). You will need to sign in to complete the verification
process.
4. Now you have signed in you will need to locate and click "
Host/Redirects
". Once on the
"
Manage Hosts
" page you will next need to click "
Add a Host
".
5. You should now see the "
Hostname Information
" form. In this section you will be able to
create a
hostname
which will act as a
website address
which you will use to access
your
DVR.
6. In the "
Hostname
" box, type something that is relevant to you (this will make up the first
part of your web address) and make sure the
drop down box
next to it is set to "
no-
ip.org
"
7. Now you have completed the hostname creation page click "
Create Host
"
8. You should now see your new hostname listed on the "
Manage Hosts
" page.
