WARNING
Failure to properly install grab bar may result in severe injury. Read these warnings
carefully before using the product.
• Special fasteners may be required if wood stud is not in desired location. If you have any
questions or concerns, we suggest installation by a qualified tradesman.
• Keep screws tight. All screws should be checked for tightness before use.
• Test unit before use. Before using the grab bar, test for stability by vigorously attempting

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS*
Tools Required for Grab Bar Installation:
3/8” or 1/4” electric drill, extension cord, 5/32” drill bit for drilling pilot hole in wood
stud, 1/4” drill bit for clearance hole with tile if appropriate, sharp center punch,
level, soft grease pencil, hammer, screwdriver, stud finder, toggle bolts (if not able to
install into wall stud).
Included:
Included: 6- 2” screws and 2 rubber gaskets
(Gaskets Contain dry Natural rubber).
1. Position grab bar at angle which best accommodates user’s needs and also allows at
least one end to be mounted into the wall stud. Mark hole locations with soft grease
pencil. When locating vertical or horizontal positions, use your level. If one end cannot be
mounted into a wall stud, you must use a butterfly toggle fastener (not supplied).
2.
MOUNTING DIRECTLY INTO WOOD STUDS:
• Drill 5/32” pilot hole. Place rubber gasket between bar and the wall.
Insert the screws through hole in bar and hole in the rubber gasket.
MOUNTING THROUGH TILE:
(
Caution:
Avoid drilling into water lines)
• At the mark for your hole, take your sharp
center punch and gently chip the glaze away. The chipped area need be no larger than
the hole you are going to drill.
• Once the glaze is chipped, take the 1/4” tile drill bit and drill into the wall. If you strike
wood, stop drilling. Switch to the 5/32” drill bit and drill 1” into the wood. First insert the
screw through the screw cover base. If you do not penetrate wood, see instructions for
mounting with a toggle bolt.
MOUNTING USING A TOGGLE FASTENER
(not supplied)
• Drill hole using drill bit large enough to receive the toggle fastener.
• Insert the toggle bolt through the hole for the screw cover base, spin butterfly tip on
just enough to be secure, then feed bolt through large hole drilled.
• Once the butterfly is inserted it will fly open on the inside of the wall. Pull out on the
grab bar to make sure the butterfly has opened properly (reference illustration). Drive
screw down until you feel the bar snug to the wall using screwdriver
3. Test bar for tightness by applying full body force to the bar to make sure that it is
solidly anchored.
