Operation (pic. 1 - 7)
A drill that is ground adequately is characterised by the
following;
•
Pointed tip in the centre of the drill (wood drill)
•
Drilling bit with two sharp and identically sized
sides.
•
Two rear edges that are slightly lower than the
front edges of the drilling bit.
If your drill does not have the characteristics above, it must
be ground.
Step 1 - Presetting
•
Take the chuck to your hand and insert it in the
alignment hole guide (pic. 2, pic. 3).
•
Open the chuck by turning left so that the drill
you want to grind can be inserted in it.
•
Press the alignment button to open the
adjustable jaws. Now the drill can be inserted
until it stops in between the adjustable jaws (pic.
3).
•
Release slowly the alignment button so that the
closing adjustable jaws grasp the drill above the
work holding slot and set the position in this way
(pic. 4).
•
Close the chuck again by turning it right and take
out of the alignment hole.
•
Tighten the chuck a little bit more now.
Step 2 - Grinding
•
Plug the drill grinder.
•
Start the drill grinder using the On/Off button.
•
Insert the chuck with a drill made ready in step 1
in the grinding hole guide (pic. 5).
•
Now turn the chuck with light pressing to the
right and left stop so that noise made during the
grinding process is significantly reduced.
•
Take the chuck out of the guide, turn by 180°
and repeat the grinding process.
•
Switch the drill grinder off by the On/Off button.
Let the abrasive stone stop before removing the
chuck.
•
Make sure the drill is ground properly and
corresponds to the three or two above-
mentioned points regarding sharp edges (pic. 7)
Step 3 – Tip shaping
ONLY FOR WOOD DRILLS
•
Plug the drill grinder.
•
Start the drill grinder using the On/Off button.
•
Insert the chuck with a drill made ready in step 1
in the tip shaping hole (pic. 6).
•
Now turn the chuck with light pressing to the
right and left stop so that noise made during the
grinding process is significantly reduced (pic. 6).
•
Take the chuck out of the guide, turn by 180°
and repeat the tip shaping process.
•
Switch the drill grinder off by the On/Off button.
Let the abrasive stone stop before removing the
chuck.
•
Make sure the drill tip shape is adequate, which
is characterised by a sharp point in the centre of
the drill.
