Changing the scancode set of PS/2 keyboards
If you press a key at the PS/2 keyboard, the keyboard processor sends a data packet
that is called scan code. The two common scancode sets (sets 2 and 3) contain differ-
ent scancodes.
In the default configuration, the KVM extender interprets any entry made at the
PS/2 keyboard with the scancode set 2.
Use the scancode set 3 if you cannot enter the pipe “|” or the arrow keys do not
work as expected.

1. Click on
KVM Extenders > [All Extenders]
on the directory tree.
2. Double-click the computer module of the KVM extender you want to con-
figure.
3. Click on the tab
Local
if you want to adjust the support of a special key-
board for the local console (at the
CPU
module).
Click on the tab
Remote > General
if you want to adjust the support of a spe-
cial keyboard for the remote console (at the
CON
module).
4. Under
PS/2 keyboard type
select one of the following options:
default
disables support of special keyboards
PixelPower Blue
enables support of keyboard
PixelPower Blue
SKIDATA1
enables support of keyboard
SKIDATA1
5. Click
OK
to save your changes.
