INSTALLATION AND SERVICE MANUAL 917N-CMT, 927CMT, 957CMT
184617-02
1. Two factory pre-charged and insu-
lated condenser line sets are re-
quired for each condenser:
a.
Discharge-1/2 in. OD line set
b.
Liquid return-3/8 in. OD line set
IMPORTANT:
Before routing line sets for a
freezer with two condensers, label
each end or coupling of one line
set with tape, marker, etc. The
couplings at the rear of the freezer
are labeled “A-SIDE” and “B-
SIDE”. (See Figure 6-1.) For ex-
ample, label both ends of a ½" and
3
/
8
" line set for the “A-SIDE”.
Labeling will insure that the line
sets are properly connected.
2. Route the condenser line sets be-
tween the freezer and condenser.
6.2 Remote Air Condenser Installation
6
Remote Air Condenser
2. Position the condenser(s) where
there is minimal restriction to air flow,
giving consideration to prevailing
wind direction. Allow for at least two
(2) feet clearance at inlet and outlet.
If there are two condenser units,
position them so they will not dis-
charge hot air from one into the
other.
3. Bolt the condenser to a secure
foundation, using the four slot holes
on the condenser base plate.
6.1 Placement of the Remote Air Condenser
The remote air-cooled system consists of
a) the freezer, b) the condensing unit,
and c) pre-charged line sets. The follow-
ing procedures will insure leak-free
connections are made when installing
these pre-charged units.
1. Select a location as close as possible
to the freezer for placing the remote
condensing unit. No more than 30ft.
of condenser line can be installed
outdoors.
IMPORTANT:
Thirty feet is the maximum length
of condenser line which may be
installed outdoors. Exceeding 30
ft. may cause operational prob-
lems during cold weather.
Position the lines in a safe location so
they can be securely clamped to a
wall or structural member of the
building. Any excess tubing should be
coiled and laid flat in an indoor
location.
3. The 6 foot flexible lines connect at the
rear of the freezer. Each flexible line
can have only one bend. (See Figure
6-2 for reference).
4. Provide proper pitch and oil trap
bends in the discharge line where
required. Avoid sharp bends wher-
ever possible. Do not remove the
insulation on the lines due to conden-
sation and refrigerant heat loss
during cold weather conditions.
Position the condenser lines to their
final location.
5. Be sure to keep the discharge line
separate from the liquid line by
approximately 6 inches.
