Level (Spectrum measurements)
WARNING
: Connection of the ‘g’ terminal to a reference
ground can introduce errors when an imbalance between the
‘a’ and ‘b’ lines exists. In this case, disconnect the ‘g’ terminal
from reference ground on one end of the measurement.
This single-ended measurement displays the level spectrum of the signal at the
RTX terminals:
press the key and then [f1] twice to select
Level Noise
The RMS value is the total signal power across the frequency span.
The following settings are relevant to Level Noise measurements and should be
set according to requirements:
select the frequency span / centre frequency.
select the filter to apply for noise measurements.
Transmitter interface is either
TX-RX
or
RTX
.
select the
Input
impedance - use a terminated(
TERM)
impedance on spare
pairs and a bridging(
HiZ
) impedance on active pairs.
adjust the input level range or use the AutoRange feature.
Use the marker to determine the signal/noise level at a particular frequency.
