Press the [f5] key to measure the Spurious Free Range,
SFR
.
The difference in dB between the RMS amplitude of the input signal and the
peak spurious signal (does not have to be a harmonic). Also known as
SFDR.
The frequency span should be set to display the desired number of harmonics to
include in the calculation. To view the harmonics or noise in more detail use the
“VertOffset” setting found by pressing the key.
If the “AutoRange” setting is LVL+BW, the LT51 will automatically set the
frequency span to 4x the frequency of the fundamental signal (or largest current
input signal).
Note:
The Distortion functions can be affected by the noise at the low end of
the frequency span due to DC effects. The calculations automatically
remove this noise.
