Return Loss
WARNING:
Ensure that the interface is free of all high power
signals before connecting the LT51 in RTX mode (eg. Return
Loss). Permanent damage to the LT51 will result otherwise.
This single-ended measurement uses an internal AC bridge circuit to measure
the Return Loss of the pair connected to the RTX terminals. The LT51 transmits
either a single tone or sweeps over the selected frequency span depending on
the sweeping setting. Simultaneously the LT51 measures the level at each
sweep frequency at RTX and displays the results:
press the key and then [f3] to select
Return Loss
.
The following settings are relevant to Return Loss measurements and should be
set according to requirements:
select the frequency span / centre frequency.
Adjust the input level range or use the auto-range feature.
set
Sweeping
configuration for swept or single tone measurements.
Adjust TX
Frequency
(if
Sweeping
is
OFF
).
The following settings are fixed during the measurement:
The TX
Level
is fixed at -10 dBm.
Transmitter interface is set to
TX-RX
.
Use the marker to determine the Return Loss at a particular frequency (see
Marker functions).
