Replacing a transceiver module
WARNING!
Disconnected optical fibers or transceiver modules might emit invisible laser light. Do not stare into
beams or view directly with optical instruments when the switch is operating.
CAUTION:
Make sure the transceiver modules connected by a fiber have the same specifications.
To replace a transceiver module:
1.
Disconnect the fiber from the transceiver module.
2.
Rotate downward the bail latch of the transceiver module to the horizontal position, and then
pull the transceiver module out of the port.
You can use a pair of tweezers to remove the transceiver module.
3.
Install a dust plug into each transceiver module port.
4.
Install a new transceiver module. For information about the installation procedure, see
"Connecting a fiber port."
If you are not to install a new transceiver module, install a dust plug into the empty fiber port.
