Parameters
None
Description
Use the
shutdown
command to shut down a VLAN interface.
Use the
undo shutdown
command to bring up a VLAN interface.
By default, a VLAN interface is up except when all ports in the VLAN are down.
You can use the
undo shutdown
command to bring up a VLAN interface after configuring related
parameters and protocols for the VLAN interface. When a VLAN interface fails, you can shut down the
interface with the
shutdown
command and then bring it up with the
undo shutdown
command. In this
way, the interface may resume.
The state of any Ethernet port in a VLAN is independent of the VLAN interface state.
