Description
Use the
loopback-detection multi-port-mode enable
command to enable multi-port loopback detection
mode.
Use the
undo loopback-detection multi-port-mode enable
command to restore the default.
By default, multi-port loopback detection mode is disabled.
If a device receives a packet that it sent out, a loop has occurred to the device. Depending on whether
the receiving interface is the same as the sending interface, loops fall into the single-port loopback and
multi-port loopback.
•
Single-port loopback occurs when an interface receives a packet that it sent out and the receiving
interface is the same as the sending interface.
•
Multi-port loopback occurs when a device receives a packet that it sent out but the receiving
interface may not be the sending interface.
Multi-port loopback detection is implemented on the basis of single-port loopback detection
configurations on Ethernet interfaces.
