Power supply failure
Built-in power supply failure
The S5170-EI switch series uses built-in power supplies.
•
S5170-28S-EI, S5170-54S-EI, S5170-54S-EI-DP, S5170-28S-HPWR-EI, S5170-54S-PWR-EI,
and S5170-36F-EI
—You can observe the system status LED on the switch to identify power
supply failure.
•
S5170-36F-EI-DP
—You can observe the system status LED and AC power status LEDs on the
switch to identify power supply failure.
Symptom
•
S5170-28S-EI, S5170-54S-EI, S5170-54S-EI-DP, S5170-28S-HPWR-EI, S5170-54S-PWR-EI,
and S5170-36F-EI
—The system status LED on the switch is off.
•
S5170-36F-EI-DP
—The system status LED is off, or the system status LED is on but one of the
AC power status LEDs is off when you use two power supplies.
Solution
To resolve the issue:
1.
Verify that the power receptacle on the switch is in good condition.
2.
Verify that the power cord is correctly connected.
3.
Verify that the power source is operating correctly.
4.
Verify that the operating temperature of the switch is in the acceptable range, and the power
supply has good ventilation. Overtemperature can cause the power supply to stop working
and enter protection mode.
5.
If the issue persists, contact H3C Support.
Removable power supply failure
The S5570S-EI switch series uses removable power supplies.
•
S5570S-28S-EI, S5570S-54S-EI, S5570S-36F-EI, and S5570S-54F-EI
—You can observe the
power supply status LEDs (PWR1 and PWR2) on the switch to identify power supply failure.
•
S5570S-28S-HPWR-EI, S5570S-54S-PWR-EI, and S5570S-30MS-UPWR-EI
—You can
observe the power supply status LEDs (PWR1 and PWR2) on the switch in combination with
the status LEDs on the power supplies to identify power supply failure.
