Fan tray power consumption
The gateway uses fans with the automatic speed adjustment function. The fan speed is
automatically adjusted based on the heat dissipation condition of the gateway. The power consumed
by a fan tray depends on the fan speed.

System power consumption
The system power consumption of the gateway depends on the type and number of cards and the
fan tray power consumption.
•
The minimum system power consumption is the total static power consumption of all cards plus
the minimum fan tray power consumption.
•
The maximum system power consumption is the total dynamic power consumption of all cards
plus the maximum fan tray power consumption.
For example, for an M9000-AI-E8 gateway that has two NSQM5SUP08A1 SEMs, two
NSQM5FAB08A1 switching fabric modules, one NSQM5MBSHA1 interface switch module, one
NS-C300-QG4TG16A1 interface module, one NS-FWEMPA1 service module, and two M9000-AI-E8
fan trays, the minimum system power consumption of the gateway is 2 × 46 + 2 × 1.4 + 1 × 79 + 1 ×
7 + 1 × 178 + 2 × 14 = 386.8 W, and the maximum system power consumption of the gateway is 2 ×
50 + 2 × 1.7 + 1 × 89 + 1 × 34 + 1 × 205 + 2 × 255 = 941.4 W.
