Setting terminal parameters
To configure and manage the gateway, you must run a terminal emulator program on the console
terminal.
If your PC runs Windows 2003 Server, add the HyperTerminal component before performing the
following steps to log in to and manage the gateway. If your PC runs Windows 2008 server, Windows
7, Windows Vista, or any other operating system, prepare third-party terminal control software, and
follow the software user guide or help to configure the terminal.
The following are the required terminal settings:

Bits per second
—9,600.

Data

—8.
•
Parity
—None.
•
Stop
bits
—1.
•
Flow
control
—None.
•
Emulation
—VT100.
To set terminal parameters, for example, on a Windows XP HyperTerminal:

Select
Start

All Programs
>
Accessories
>
Communications
>
HyperTerminal
.
The
Connection Description
dialog box appears.
2.
Enter the name of the new connection in the
Name
field and click
OK
.
