The unit/system must be connected to the protection ground before operation
permanently. And the cross-section of protective earthing conductor shall be at
least 2.5mm
2

For AC supplied model: The device applies to TN power systems.
z
For AC supplied model: The plug-socket combination must be accessible at all
times because it serves as the main disconnecting device.
z
Because the device has several power supplies, disconnect all of them to switch
off the device .
z
To reduce the risk of fire, use only No. 26 AWG or larger telecommunication line
cord.
z
No operation can be done on the device and cables when lightning.
z
As for the signal line outdoors to which the interface are connected, such as ISDN
line, telephone line, E1/T1 line, etc, a special lightning arrester should be
recommended at the input end of the signal line to enhance the lightning
protection capability.
z
To enhance the lightning protection capability of the power supply, a lightning
arrester is recommended at the input end of the power supply.
z
To avoid electric shock, do not connect safety extra-low voltage (SELV) circuits to
telephone-network voltage (TNV) circuits. And FXS port is just for in-door use.

When moving or lifting the chassis, please use the handles that are directly in the
chassis, or lift the chassis by grasping its lower edge,and it is not permitted to use
the handles on certain modules such as power supply, fans or cards, for they
cannot support the weight of the device.

To prevent laser radiation from hurting your eyes, never stare into the open optical
port.
z
Before operation, the equipment must be fixed securely on the floor or other
reliable objects, such as walls and mounting racks.
z
It is not recommended to wear jewelry and watch during operation on device.
z
Installation, configuration and disassembly must be done only by skillful personnel
according to the documents concerned.

The unit/system must be operated by experts and authorized users only.
z
Any replacement or change to the system or parts of the system (including the
software) must be done by qualified or authorized personnel of Huawei-3Com.
z
Any fault and error that might affect safety must be reported immediately by the
user to the person in charge.
z
Removal or disabling of safety facilities, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the
equipment must be done by qualified specialists only.
All parts of the document must be followed to the full. The document also serves as a
guide to the selection of measuring and test equipment.
