Pulling and hoisting

The STIHL petrol motor should be operated according to the STIHL operating instructions.

-

Do not fill with chain lubricant

-

Use the blend of fuel recommended in the STIHL operating instructions.

-

Shake the fuel mixture thoroughly before refuelling. The fuel should not be older than 2 years old.

Check the fuel levels before commencing pulling tasks and refill if necessary. A full petrol tank provides approx. 15 min of
operating time (equivalent to approx. 150 m of rope).

Starting the motor:

1.

Start the motor

2.

Check that the chain brake is disengaged. (see arrow) To protect the coupling,
the chain brake should not be engaged for too long.

3.

Set the driving wheel into motion using the throttle lever. Open the throttle
enough that the motor runs smoothly and the centrifugal clutch grips properly.

When hoisting, ensure that neither the housing nor the cable are being diverted or tilted by objects or obstacles. The freely
exiting cable may not be impeded.

-

Keep an eye on the rope during movement.

-

Danger of slipping with small loads!

-

When hoisting to over 50 m, the empty cable should not be allowed to freely hang down.

Never allow the hook to touch the housing.

Stopping the driving wheel:
Release throttle lever. The driving wheel will immediately stop moving and the built-in backstop prevents the driving wheel
from turning backwards.

-

Caution! If the brake release lever is not swivelled upwards, the load will fall at lowering speed after the
throttle lever is released.
Pivot throttle lever upwards immediately

In emergencies, e.g. in the case of jams:
Block the motor using the chain brake.
