Instrument Setup - 3624 ProBrix Plus
Operator Manual
ORBISPHERE
The instrument clears a Low or Low-Low alarm when the measurement rises 1% above
the low or low-low limit respectively, or clears a High or High-High alarm when the
measurement drops 1% below the high or high-high limit respectively.
Under the
MODIFY OPTIONS
menu, highlight
ALARM
and press
ENTER
. Choose
ENABLED
or
DISABLED
as required.
3.4 Serial Output (instrument only)
The instrument serial output is normally used to interface to the PC for analysis of
measurement data via the ProBrix Plus PC Program.
Choose
SERIAL OUTPUT
from the
MODIFY OPTIONS
menu, and select
PC COM
to
enable the serial interface to the ProBrix Plus PC Program (see
).
The
DIAGNOSTICS
output provides lines of hexadecimal code indicating your
instrument configuration. This is intended for troubleshooting purposes, and should only
be used by qualified Hach Ultra Service Technicians.
3.5 Continuous Purge Mode (instrument only)
Use this option to view the sensor voltages, particularly when seeing the
Prg
message
on your instrument LCD.
Choose
CONTINUOUS PURGE
from the
MODIFY OPTIONS
menu. The continuous
purge display alternates between two screens. One is a combined CO
2
(#0) and Brix/
Diet (#1) sensor voltages, and the other is the O
2
(#02) sensor current and temperature.
Press
ESC
to exit this option. Note that the CO
2
sensor is continually purged whenever
you exit the measurement mode.
If you chose
ENABLED
then select the measurement
(
CO2
or
BRX
) to bring up the data entry displays, which
start with
LOW
followed by
HIGH
and finally
HIGH/HIGH
.
Enter the required value for each setting.
Voltage should be in the range of -2.5 V to +4.5 V,
preferably around 0 V, for the CO
2
sensor (top line), and
0 to 1.05 for the Brix/Diet sensor. The temperature
displayed on the top line is from the external temperature
sensor on the CO
2
sensor flow chamber, and on the
bottom line from the temperature sensors in the Brix/Diet
sensor.
The O
2
sensor current (top line) depends on the oxygen
content in the sample being measured. For example,
when the O
2
sensor (with a 2952A membrane) is exposed
to air, the current should be around 5.4 µA and when
exposed to pure O
2
, the current should be around 27 µA.
The temperature displayed on the bottom line is from the
internal temperature thermistor of the O
2
sensor.
