3624 ProBrix Plus - Operating Information
Operator Manual
ORBISPHERE
Your instrument is pre-set with certain default values to anticipate your measurement
conditions, such as measurement display units, thermal cutoff temperature, and product
changeover mode. You may, however, change these using the Instrument Modify
Options Menus described in “Instrument Modify Options Menu” on page 37.
2.4.1 Measurement Displays
Switching on the indicating instrument first shows the software version and date on the
LCD, and then switches to a
Configuration Screen
displaying the gas being measured,
the purge gas required for the CO
2
sensor, and the membrane model number for this
sensor.
The configuration screen appears briefly, before switching to a
Calibration Coefficients
screen for several seconds before finally switching to an
O
2
Measurement Display
. This
display then alternates every few seconds with one of the CO
2
or °Brix/%Diet
measurement displays illustrated in
Press the up/down arrow keys to switch between these three measurement displays.
You may experience a delay before the display changes, depending on the purge/
measurement cycle of the CO
2
sensor. Press the
ESC
key to exit from these displays
and move to the
Main Menu
to access additional menus (
Measure
,
Options
and
Calibrate
).
Note:
After pressing
ESC
, the instrument will check if
Change Product
is accessible (switch
set to
PC+ANALYZER
- see “Change Product” on page 42). If not, then the
Main Menu
will appear. Otherwise you will be requested to enter a new product number and the
above measurement cycle restarts. If you do not wish to enter another product, press
ESC
to get to the
Main Menu
.
The O
2
and Brix/Diet LED displays are driven by analog outputs from the instrument.
These displays are updated at regular time intervals but may vary slightly from the
instrument LCD's displayed values.
2.4.2 Measurement Hold Switch
Interruptions in the sample flow can cause temporary variations in measurements. For
this reason, the ProBrix Plus provides a
Hold
capability to exclude these measurements
from the statistics. To use this capability, you must provide an external switch (for
example, on a filling machine) that is open while the sample is flowing and closed during
the flow interruption. Wire this switch as described in
When the switch is closed, indicating a
Hold
condition:
• The
instrument
holds the last gas measurement values on all outputs, flashes a
HOLD
message between LCD updates, and shows a
Hld
code in the LCD bottom
line at the right of the temperature measurement
