The provided locking counterpieces (striking plates) or panelling must be installed in
order to ensure compliance with EN 179.
A sticker with the inscription “Operate lever handle to open” or a pictogram should
be placed on the inside of the door immediately above the operating device or on
the operating device itself (see sample below).
With panic exit devices type “B” (DT 700) intended for use on emergency exit doors
opening inwards, a sticker with the inscription “Pull lever handle to open” or a picto-
gram should be placed on the inside of the door immediately above the pull plate.
The surface of the pictogram should be at least 8,000 mm² and the colours white
on a green background.
6.5 Additional
requirements of
panic exit devices
if they are used on
smoke control/fire
protection doors
Restriction of the intended use of the DT 700/DT 710 with EN 179:
- Only for single doors
- Escape direction opening inwards or outwards
- Rebated door version
The max. permissible door weight is 200 kg.
The max. permissible deformation of the door leaf to the rebate is 3 mm.
In accordance with EN 1634-1 test report No. DMT-DO-50-229-002 the resistance
time of a single-leaf door construction approx. 65 mm thick made from wood and
wooden materials with thermal insulation EI1 and EI2 is 103 minutes.
The safety features of this product are an essential requirement for its compliance
with DIN EN 179.
No modifications must be made, unless they are described in the instructions.
6.6 Maintenance
instructions
In order to ensure that the equipment is usable in accordance with this document,
the following routine maintenance checks must be carried out at intervals of no more
than one month:
• Inspection and actuation of the panic exit device in order to ensure that all
components of the lock are in a satisfactory operating condition.
• The actuation force for releasing the panic exit device must be measured using
a dynamometer and recorded.
• It must be ensured that the locking counterpieces (striking plates) are not blocked
or clogged up.
• It must be checked whether the panic exit device has been greased in
accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
• It must be checked that no additional locking devices have been attached to the
door.
WARNING
Risk by key inside the profile cylinder!
If there is a key inside the profile cylinder that ist not removed, there is risk
of malfunctions.
> The key of the profile cylinder must always be removed.
> The profile cylinder is for emergency opening only.
