WELcomE to tHE WorLd of BEttaS!
We are pleased that you have decided to explore the aquatic hobby and want your
experience with your Marina Betta Kit to be a positive one. In order to help you to
be successful, we strongly encourage you to read the following instructions before
proceeding.
Setting up a home for your Betta
First, remove and inspect all parts to ensure that nothing was damaged during
transport. Thoroughly rinse the aquarium and hood with fresh water.
Never use
soap on any component placed in your aquarium as soap is harmful to
fish.
Rinse gravel thoroughly in a bucket or fine colander to remove any debris. Add
gravel to the aquarium.
Note:
The aquarium’s base is set firmly onto the tank, trying to remove it may cause
the aquarium and/or the base to crack.
Fill the aquarium with room temperature water and add the correct dose of Nutrafin
Betta Plus Water Conditioner. Adding water conditioner is extremely important as tap
water contains chemicals such as chlorine, chloramine and other heavy metals that are
detrimental to your Betta’s health. It is now safe to introduce your Betta
into its new home. Betta fish tend to get excited their first few nights in
a new environment. In order to comfort and sooth them, it is suggested
that a paper be placed over the top of the tank for the first few nights.
feeding your Betta
The Betta is a carnivorous fish that typically feeds on mosquito larvae and pupae in
its natural habitat. A proper diet is essential for your Betta to ensure its color remains
bright and vibrant, to promote the growth of its long beautiful fins and provide
increased energy and activity. Your Betta should be fed a dry
fish formulation that is high in protein such as Nutrafin Betta
Food. Bettas should be fed once daily, no more than they can
eat within 30 seconds, usually between 3 and 4 flakes. Make
sure to remove any excess or uneaten food from the tank
following the feeding.
caring for your Betta
Betta fish, also known as Siamese fighting fish, are aggressive in nature with the
tendency to fight both each other and other fish. Considering this affinity, Bettas
should always be housed in separate tanks. If you place Bettas in separate tanks that
are in close proximity of one another, make sure to keep the tanks covered as they
may get over excited and jump in an attempt to fight or mate.
Like many fish, Bettas secrete ammonia which is toxic for
them in large quantities. To ensure that their environment is
safe, Bettas require 1/2 water changes on a weekly basis.
When performing a water change, remove the Betta from the
tank, and place it in a separate container along with some of
the current tank water.
Empty the rest of the water out of the tank, wipe the tank,
hood and base with a soft cloth or polywool and rinse the
gravel or ornament (sold separately).
make sure not to
use soap when cleaning the tank as it is dangerous
for the fish.
Refill the tank with tap water along with the
correct dose of Nutrafin Betta Bowl Water Conditioner.
Ideally water temperature should be between 75 and 80 ºF
(24-27 ºC).

BIENVENUE daNS LE moNdE dES BEttaS!
Ajoutez
du gravier à l’aquarium.
