Cleaning and Maintenance
Warning:
To avoid electric shock always unplug your freezer
before cleaning. Ignoring this warning may result in
death or injury.
Caution:
Before using cleaning products, always read and
follow manufacturer’s instructions and warnings to
avoid personal injury or product damage.
General:
• Turn the temperature control knob to the OFF
position. Unplug the freezer. Remove the food and
storage basket.
• Prepare a cleaning solution of 2 tablespoons of
baking soda mixed with a quart of warm water.
Use a sponge or soft cloth, dampened with the
cleaning solution, to wipe down your freezer.
• The outside of the freezer should be cleaned with
mild detergent and warm water.
• Dry the interior and exterior with a soft cloth.
• Wash the storage basket with a mild detergent
solution and rinse well.
• Do not use harsh or abrasive chemicals, ammonia,
chlorine bleach, concentrated detergents, solvents
or metal scouring pads. Some of the chemicals may
dissolve, damage and/or discolor your freezer.
• It is recommended that the unit be cleaned each
time it is defrosted to help keep the unit odor free
and running efficiently.
Door Gaskets:
· Be sure to keep the door gasket (seal) clean and
pliable to keep the unit running efficiently and to
ensure a proper seal.
• Clean the door gaskets every three months
according to the General Cleaning
instructions above.
• Petroleum jelly applied lightly on the hinge side of
the gaskets will keep the gasket pliable and ensure
a good seal.
