Control Panel and Knobs (Cont)
To replace knobs aft er cleaning, align t he hole on t he knob
backside wit h t he gas valve shaft and push inward unt il t he
knob is securely fast ened. All knobs are int erchangeable.
Cooktop Surface
Do not use oven cleaners, abrasive cleansers, st rong liquid
cleansers, st eel wool, plast ic scouring pads, or cleaning
powders on t he cookt op surface. Clean wit h a mild soap
and wat er or a 50/ 50 solut ion of vinegar and wat er. Rinse
wit h clean wat er and dry wit h a soft clot h. When cleaning
surfaces, make sure t hat t hey are at room t emperat ure and
not in direct sunlight .
Spillage of marinades, fruit juices, tomato sauces and basting
liquids containing acids may cause discoloration and should be
wiped up as soon as hot surfaces cool, then clean and rinse.
If your model has a st ainless st eel cookt op surface, refer t o
t he St ainless St eel Surface cleaning inst ruct ions feat ured in
t he Cont rol Panel and Knobs sect ion.
Removal of Surface Burners for Cleaning
Turn all cont rols OFF. Allow cookt op t o cool before removing
grat es and burner part s. When removing t he burner caps and
heads, remember t heir size and locat ion. Replace t hem in t he
same locat ion aft er cleaning.

Cleaning the Burner Caps
Wash burner caps in hot , soapy wat er and rinse wit h clean
wat er. You may scour wit h a plast ic scouring pad t o remove
burned- on food part icles. The round burner caps may also be
cleaned in your dishwasher.
Cleaning the Burner Heads
Wash the burner heads routinely, especially after bad spillovers
which could clog the burner openings. Lift burners off when
cool. Wash with hot, soapy water. Rinse with clean water. For
more stubborn stains, use a brush with plastic bristles.
NOTE:
Do not use st eel wool or scouring pads t o clean t he
burner part s as t hese may clog t he openings. Never wash
burner heads in your dishwasher as dishwasher. Doing so
may cause t hem t o discolor.
The port s in t he burner heads must be kept clean at all t imes
for an even, unhampered flame.
Clogged or dirt y burner port s or elect rodes will not allow t he
burner t o operat e properly.
Replacing Surface Burners
Before replacing t he burner caps, heads and oval head/ cap
assembly, shake out excess wat er and allow t hem t o dry
t horoughly.
Replace burner heads in t he correct locat ions according t o
size. Ensure each cap is properly seat ed on t he burner head,
as pict ured below.
CAUTION
Do not operate the cooktop without all
burner parts and grates in place.
Any spill on or around an elect rode must be carefully cleaned.
Avoid hit t ing t he elect rode wit h anyt hing hard or it could be
damaged.

The elect rode of t he spark ignit er is exposed when
t he burner head is removed. When one burner is
t urned t o LITE, all t he burners spark. Do not at t empt
t o disassemble or clean around any burner while
anot her burner is on.
