My new oven doesn't 
cook like my old one. 
Is something wrong 
with the temperature 
settings?

Your new oven has a different  cooking syst em 
from your old oven and t herefore may cook 
different ly t han your old oven.

For t he first  few uses, follow your recipe t imes 
and t emperat ures carefully and use rack posit ions 
recommended in t he Cooking Guide. If you st ill t hink 
your new oven is t oo hot  or t oo cold, you can adjust  t he 
t emperat ure yourself t o meet  your specific cooking 
preference. See t he Oven Cont rols sect ion.

Food does not bake 
properly

Oven cont rols improperly set .

Rack posit ion is incorrect  or rack is not  level.

See t he Cooking Modes sect ion and Cooking Guide.

Incorrect  cookware or cookware of improper size 
being used.

Food does not broil 
properly

Oven cont rols improperly set .

Make sure you select  t he appropriat e broil mode. 

Improper rack posit ion being used.

See Cooking Guide for rack locat ion suggest ions.

Cookware not  suit ed for broiling.

Use a pan specifically designed for broiling.

Aluminum foil on t he broil pan has not  been fit t ed 
properly or slit  t o drain grease.

If using aluminum foil on broil pan, wrap tightly and add slits 
conforming to those in the pan to allow grease to drain.

Oven temperature 
too hot or too cold

Oven t emperat ure needs adjust ment .

Oven appears not to 
work

A fuse in your home may be blown or t he circuit  
breaker t ripped.

Replace t he fuse or reset  t he circuit  breaker.

Oven cont rols improperly set .

Oven is in Sabbat h Mode.

Verify, t hat  t he oven is not  in Sabbat h Mode. See t he 
Sabbat h Mode sect ion.

“Crackling” or 
“popping” sound

This is t he sound of t he met al heat ing and cooling 
during bot h t he cooking and cleaning funct ions.

This is normal. 

Why is my range 
making a "clicking" 
noise when using my 
oven?

Your range has been designed t o maint ain a t ight er 
cont rol over your oven's t emperat ure. You may 
hear your oven's heat ing element s "click" on and 
off more frequent ly t han in older ovens t o achieve 
bet t er result s during baking, broiling, and self-
clean cycles.

This is normal.

Sometimes the 
oven takes longer to 
preheat to the same 
temperature

Cookware, food, and/ or number of racks in oven.

Cookware, food, and racks in t he oven will cause 
differences in preheat  t imes. Remove excess it ems t o 
reduce preheat  t ime.

Oven light does not 
work

Light bulb is loose or defective.

Tighten or replace bulb. See the Oven Light section for 
instructions on how to replace the bulb.
