2. Certifications
SMART S-MS MED series gas detectors meet the essential health and safety
requirements in accordance with the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU.
The gas detectors of the ST series have been designed for use in potentially
explosive atmospheres due to the presence of gas, vapour, mist and dust,
classified as zone 1 or zone 2 (or zone 21 or 22 when the dust cover is applied)
according to EN 60079-10-1 and EN 60079-10-2 classification.
In particular they have undergone a series of performance tests and are
constructed according to the CESI 02 ATEX 084X certificate in compliance with
EN 60079-29-1:2016, suitable for use as safety devices.
SMART S-MS MED comply with the essential health and safety requirements of
MED directive 2014/90/UE.
2.1 MARKING
The detectors are equipped with an instrument label with one of the following
markings indicating the explosion protection mode:
0722 II 2G Ex db IIC T* Gb
Or, when equipped with dust adapter:
0722 II 2GD Ex db IIC T* Gb
Ex tb IIIC T5 T***°C Db
