this product! Choking and strangulation hazard!
•
Do not allow children to play with the packaging
materials and this product.
Warning
•
Risk of injury fire and damage by short circuit. Im-
proper handling of jumper leads may result in severe
injuries and damage.
•
Danger! Damaged leads may cause fatal electric
shock. Discontinue use if leads are damaged. Repairs
must be performed by a qualified professional.
•
Risk of explosion and fire! Keep sources of ignition
(e.g. lit cigarettes) way from battery.
•
Risk of chemical burns! Risk of injury to the eye. Wear
protective eyewear and do not lean over the battery.
The electrolyte inside the drained starter battery
remains liquid even at low temperatures.
•
Risk of explosion! The working battery must have the
same voltage (V) and about the same capacitance (Ah)
as the drained battery (see specification on the battery).
•
Risk of explosion! Never use the jumper leads in
explosion-prone surroundings.
•
Risk of explosion! Thaw frozen batteries before starting.
•
Risk of short circuit! Never allow the vehicles to touch.
•
Risk of short circuit! Never allow the contacts of the lead
connected to the battery's positive terminal to come into
contact with electrically conductive vehicle parts.
•
Fire hazard! The vehicle’s engine displacement must
be within the approved range of the jumper leads.
•
Risk of injury! Do not modify or manipulate the prod-
uct as this will increase the risk of injury.
4. Intended Use
The jumper leads are used to start a vehicle with
drained battery by bridging with a good battery (jumper

Any other use may result in product damage or endanger
property or persons. Do not use the jumper leads e.g. as a
tow rope or outside the approved technical specifications.
5. Commissioning and operation
5.1 Preparations
•
Be sure to follow the indications on jumpstarting inside
the vehicles' operator's manuals.
•
Set the parking brake on both vehicles.
•
Set gearstick to neutral, for automatic transmissions to P.
•
Switch off ignition on both vehicles and all devices.
•
Do not disconnect the drained battery from the vehicle's
electrical system.
5.2 Connecting
Place the jumper leads so they will not be tangled in
moving parts inside the engine compartment. Connect the
terminal clamps of the leads in the following order:
1. Positive lead (red) to positive terminal of drained battery.
2. Positive lead (red) to positive terminal of good battery.
3. Negative lead (black) to negative terminal of good
battery.
4. Negative lead (black) to a suitable earthing point (e.g.
earth strap or engine block) of vehicle with drained
battery.
