4. LEARN SENSOR TO AS-200 SERIES CONTROL PANEL
After programming the temperature limits, you may test the signal communi-
cation with the control panel.
Try to activate the temperature sensor by either:
1) Bring up the room temperature above the upper limit; or
2) Reduce the room temperature below the lower limit
Once the actual temperature exceeds the preset limits, the „ON” LED
on the temperature sensor will fl ash once and a signal will be sent to the
control panel. The control panel will then respond by:
1) Zone LED of this sensor will fl ash
2) Beeping according to the zone number [Alert Notifi cation Switch is set to
„Alert”]. 1 beep for zone 1, 2 beeps for zone 2 etc, until the sensor is closed.
Note:
If the Alert Notifi cation Switch is set to „Chime”, Control Panel will
chime once for every signal activation. If the Alert Notifi cation Switch is set
to „OFF”, no audio alert will sound.
The beeping or LED fl ashing will discontinue after the actual temperature is
stabilized within the limits. For example, if the upper limit is programmed to
be at 40°C, once the temperature exceeds 40°C, a signal will be sent to the
control panel. When it drops below 40°C, a signal will not be sent instantly,
the temperature sensor must ensure the actual temperature is below 40°C
for a short period of time, around 90 seconds. Then it will disable the beeping
and LED fl ashing.
Note:
Please ensure the THERMO switch is positioned at „INT” indicating
the measurement is taken by the the built-in temperature sensor. An
external probe can be used to measure outdoor temperature (Temperature
sensor must still be mounted indoor). Refer to 5. INSTALLATION for further
information.
5.
Installation
The temperature sensor should be mounted onto
the wall by 2 screws. Follow the procedures below:
1. Use a template to mark the location for the 2
screws
correctly.
2. Tighten the screws onto the wall half way.
3. Hang the temperature sensor onto the 2 screws.
External Temperature
If you would like to monitor the external temperature (i.e. outdoor tempera-
ture), you may use the external measuring probe. Plug in the external testing
probe as show on the back of the sensor. Ensure to select the “EXT” on the
front panel so the external temperature will be monitored. If
no external measuring probe is plugged in, but “EXT” is selected, the display
will not show any temperature.
Note:
The temperature sensor is not designed to be used outdoor, it must
be installed indoor. To monitor outdoor temperature, an external measuring
probe can be used, while the temperature sensor is installed indoor.
6. SENSOR FAILURE / LOW BATTERY INDICATION
The control panel constantly monitors its sensors, if the control panel fails
to communicate with any sensors, it will begin rapidly fl ashing the zone LED
indicator.
When sensor failure occurs, try the following:
1. Check if the sensor is located at where it should be, and whether there is
any physical damage to the sensor.
2. If the failed sensor is not physically damaged, try to activate the sensor
and see if the control panel reacts to such activation.
