2.8 Motion detection
The motion detection makes the wireless LAN camera a simple surveillance device. A movement or change in the area under
surveillance is detected and, depending on the setting, the system sends an image of the change/movement by e-mail or it is
uploaded to an FTP server.
The fi rst menu item enables you to turn motion detection
On or Off.
Monitoring interval:
The monitoring interval defi nes an interval in the seconds between each check for motion or change in
the camera’s fi eld of vision.
Recording duration:
The recording duration determines how long a registered movement is to be fi lmed.
Intervals of 1 to 5 seconds.
Send video by e-mail:
If the system senses motion, it records a video, which can be sent by e-mail to a preset address
(item 2.7.1). Select “Yes” to activate this function.
E-mail subject:
Here, you can enter a special subject for the e-mail that is sent when motion is detected.
Upload video to FTP server:
If the system detects motion, it records a video, which can be uploaded to a preset FTP server
(item 2.7.2). Select “Yes” to activate this function.
Confi rm and save your settings by clicking
Apply.
2.9 System settings
This menu item enables you to select all relevant system settings such as password and time settings.
2.9.1 Camera information
Camera name:
For changing the name of the wireless LAN camera. This enables you to identify each camera without
ambiguity if your network contains several cameras.
Password:
Enables you to change the password for the user
“admin”.
The default administrator password is admin.
Password confi rmation:
As a precaution, your new password must be re-entered to avoid typing errors.
