Measuring Cross-Slide Squareness and Straightness with L-702SP
With the L-702SP Laser, a rotating turret is added to the L-702 Laser to create a scanning laser plane that is perpendicular
to the laser beam to 1 arc second (.00006 in/ft or 0.005 mm/m). The L-702SP scanning laser plane is flat to 0.5 arc
seconds (.00003 in/ft or 0.0025 mm/m) and can measure straightness and squareness of a cross-slide axis or of a multi-
turn machining axis.
To measure a cross-slide or a machining axis of a multi-turn machine, the A-1519-2.4ZB Single-Axis Wireless target is
needed to measure the scanning plane. The data values can be sent to our: R-1356-2.4ZB PDA Readout, R-1308 Single-
Axis Readout or the R-1307W-2.4ZB 2-Axis Readout.
