2. Installation and usage
To install the keyboard, do the following:
1. Connect the keyboard cable to an available USB port on your
computer.
2. The operating system will detect and install the smart card
keyboard automatically.
The keyboard is now ready for use.
Inserting a Smart Card
To insert a smart card in the Smart Card Keyboard make sure that
the side of the smart card including the metallic part with the contacts
are at the front of you.
If the keyboard is installed properly and the smart card is inserted
correctly, the smart card LED indicator must be on.
Notes relating to the software
The Hamlet Smart Card Keyboard is a hardware device only.
To use the keyboard with a smart card like the Regional Services
Card (CRS) or the National Services Card (CNS) you also need to
install a dedicated software distributed by the authority providing the
service.
Please refer to the website of the authority to download the software
and for detailed information on its use.
