MIDI Edit Menu
This Edit Menu allows you to set the overall MIDI parameters for the instrument and and perform a MIDI Dump operation.

MIDI TEMPLATE

MIDI TEMPLATE
This allows you to select the MIDI Template you want to use.
Use the [
][
] Touch Buttons to select the desired Template and
press the [ENTER] Touch Button tp make your selection.
See “MIDI TEMPLATE” in the APPENDIX (P. 154) for the
details of each MIDI Template.

MASTER

MIDI IN
This allows you to set the function of the MIDI IN LOWER/
OTHER jack.
NOTE: The MIDI IN PEDAL jack is not affected by this parameter
setting.
SEQUENCE:
Incoming MIDI data plays UPPER, LOWER and PEDAL parts, but is
not retransmitted.
LOWER:
Incoming MIDI data plays the LOWER part and is retransmitted
on MIDI Channel 12. The [SPLIT] Touch Button is ignored. The
XK-5 works as UPPER.
UPPER:
Incoming MIDI data plays the PEDAL part and is retransmitted on
MIDI Channel 11. The [SPLIT] Touch Button is ignored. The XK-5
works as LOWER.

LOCAL
This allows you to switch Local Control ON/OFF.
ON:
The XK-5 will play both its internal sounds and the sounds from
a connected MIDI device. Incoming MIDI data on the Keyboard
channels are used only for playing the internal sounds - they are
not retransmitted.
OFF:
The XK-5 will play only the sounds from a connected MIDI device
and the internal sounds are silenced. Incoming MIDI data on the
Keyboard Channels are re-sent by the External Zones.

NRPN
This allows you to select whether to send NRPN (Non-Registered
Parameter Number) data.
On the XK-5 NRPN is used for transmitting messages such as
Drawbar Fold Back or Leslie ON. NRPN is transmitted through
the UPPER channel.
When “ON,” transmitted. When “OFF,” not transmitted.

LESLIE
This is for controlling how to send Leslie Parameters. The Leslie
Parameters are sent on UPPER Channel.
XK:
The Leslie Parameters are sent out as normal NRPN codes.
21:
The Leslie Parameters are sent out as Leslie 21 series NRPN codes.
NOTE: When a Cabinet Number is selected (i.e. by Patch),
the parameters are sent out also.
NOTE: This parameter will change automatically when
a Leslie speaker is connected or disconnected via the
11-pin LESLIE jack.

PROGRAM CHANGE
Turns Program Change “ON” or “OFF.” When “ON,” transmit-
ted. When “OFF,” not transmitted.

DRAWBAR REGISTRATION
Turns current Drawbar settings “ON” “OFF.” When “ON,” trans-
mitted. When “OFF,” not transmitted.

EXTERNAL ZONE - WHOLE
Turns transmission of all six External Zones “ON” or “OFF.”
When “ON,” transmitted. When “OFF,” not transmitted.

EXTERNAL ZONE - PROGRAM CHANGE
This allows you to set the Program Change numbers and Bank
Select settings for each External Zone.
